Basic Psychological Characteristics
Astley is surprisingly gentle for a Pixie King. He is also gentleman. He never pushes Zara into doing any thing he wants. He always gives her the choice. He tries his best in overcoming his pixie nature, and almost always succeeds in doing it. I also get a feeling that he is lonely, and through the story, he and Zara developed a beautiful friendship, which may actually be something more.

How does he speak
Being a King, he speaks formally. His pixies listen to him as he is conceived as a good leader. With Zara, he is honest, but he’s careful with his words so as not to hurt her.

What does he want
He wants Zara to be his Queen. I also believe that he wants Zara to love him. There was a line in the third book, Entice, which shows this.

"I want you to want me because you want me, not because of grief, not because he is not here. I want you to love me for me. I want you to kiss me first and not because you need me to help you, but because you need to kiss me."

How does he get what he wants
He did not use force in making Zara his queen – no kidnapping, no physical injuries. He got what he wanted by helping Zara, being Zara’s friend, and getting Zara to trust him.

What does he do when faced with problems
He is very logical about things. He approaches problems with great caution, and thinks before he leaps. He has a plan and he sticks to it.

What do other characters say about him
The weres hate him, it’s their nature to hate pixies. Zara considers him a very good friend. By the end of the third book, Zara felt like Astley was the only friend she has.

What is his station in life
Rich and handsome pixie king. A leader. Powerful.

What is expected from him
His people expect him to stop the wars among the pixie people. In the third book, Zara expect him to help her rescue Nick.
