Author Interview: Fola, author of The Seed

I am pleased to welcome Fola here at The Fairytale Nerd! Fola is here to talk about his latest novel The Seed.

He is Poet, writer, and philosopher, Fola was born in 1984, in Egypt, the land of the Pharaohs. He spent his childhood in Egypt, then traveled to Switzerland and graduated from Hotel Institute Montreux, in Switzerland. Montreux was the turning point in Fola's life, back then he was never fond of writing, nor reading. Fola never intended to be a writer, but at the age of 20, he began recording his distinct thoughts down, for none could understand them. Papers accrued, as Fola realized that it was meant to be, he combined all these thoughts, and began his writing voyage with "The Seed." **

Throughout our lives, many things may lead us to forget who we truly are. Result? Slowly yet inevitably, cages and chains enslave our thoughts and slay our freedoms.
Down the ages, men have thus fallen for hosts of illusions, confusions and fears - except for the seven dreamers whose stories this book contains. These mad truth-seekers (who oddly share the same name) did not follow others' flow to slavery; rather, they heeded a voice in their heads that led them to obsession with an idea long thought extinct, buried beneath the sands of time: The Seed.
In this book you will take a rollicking metaphysical ride that starts in ancient Egypt, moves to the Grand Greek Era, then to Rome, Arab Alexandria, on piratic High Seas, to Switzerland and circuses, into a Christian era interlude, then to modern Egypt (2007) and lastly, to a sort of Garden of Visionary Epiphany that will leaves you on and past the brink of enlightenment...

Hi! Welcome to the Fairytale Nerd! So, how are you today?
Great, how about you?

So, tell me about your book.
It’s about a journey through the ages, like an ancient tree remembering its lost seed through time. It’s a different book, as all readers said after reading it. Even an editorial house replied, “Upon reviewing your
manuscript, we found the book to be so unusual & unconventionally styled, the evaluation process didn’t fit inside the normal standards since your book is something very different than the norm”.

What or who inspired you to write?
No one, I found myself writing before I asked my self this question. Ideas just hit me like lighting and I try to capture them, that how I began to write.

When and where were you the happiest?
Realizing my dream, after seven years of writing I held "The Seed" in my hand at home.

If you were given the power to be invisible, what is the first thing you would do?
I would check how people looked like when they are at home with out their masks.

Who is your real life hero? How about in books?
Socrates in real life & Sydney Carter in books!

Name three of your favorite authors.
I still didn't read a book, but I read a lot of quotes and my favourite author is Khalil Gibran.

Morning or night?
I enjoy both, but maybe morning a bit more...

Coffee or tea?
Coffee no milk!

All or nothing?
All is nothing

The woman who loves you or the woman you love?
The woman I love

What is your next project?
A short storybook will be out soon; mostly fantasy & fiction, it may include some poems too. I also began writing down some ideas of a new fantasy novel but this one will take some time.

Thank you for your time!
