LOCATION/SETTING:
The story is set in modern day Wyoming. The protagonist lives on a ranch that is owned by the Ulrics, a wealthy family in the place.

MAIN CHARACTER:
The main character is Lia. When she was 4 years old, her parents were killed in a car accident, so she was sent to foster care. She lived all over the country, but she was always sent back to the state. Now, she lives with her alcoholic foster father John at a ranch owned by a rich family. At the beginning of the story, she is starting her senior year, however, being the loner that she is, she does not have any friends. Physically, she looks very different, most especially her eyes. She has large blue eyes, and in the left one, there is a white pigment that looks like a half moon. The doctors diagnosed it as heterchromia, which she has inherited from her mother. Not only that, she was also diagnosed with Lycanthropy, a mind disorder that causes one to believe they can transform into an animal. In addition, she has terrible nightmares. Sometimes she even finds herself lying outside her house naked.

WHAT THE BOOK IS ABOUT:

** spoilers ** The story begins at the start of Lia's senior year. She lives in the ranch owned by the Ulrics. She carpools with Emi, the only girl out of the eight Ulric children. In school, she was invited by this hot shifter named Ryan to join his group for lunch. Being the loner that she is, Lia declined. But Ryan was persistent, and eventually Lia agreed to eat lunch with Ryan and his friends. The two became best friends. (Oh yeah, this is one of those stories where the best friend falls for the girl, but the girl does not feel the same way.) Anyway, one day, Lia was invited to this gathering with Ryan's family, and she found out things about herself. You see, Lia is not a typical teenager. For one, she looks really different. And second, she is the reincarnation of Zaria, the immortal wolf. Then she meets Emi's handsome brother Lyle. Lia instantly, and I mean instantly falls in love. But there is one problem, Lyle is a Lobison. A Lobison isn't like a shifter, where only the body transforms. When a Lobison transforms, he loses his human side. In other words, Lyle puts Lia in danger by just being with him. Enter Adam, a vampire and the enemy of Lyle's family. He also has been waiting for Zaria's reincarnation for ever, and it happened to be Lia. He still loves her, and will stop at nothing to get her back again. Now Lia is basically torn between two hot guys! ** spoilers end **

LOVE:
The book is sort of creepy - a good sort of creepy. The world created was dark, however I was mesmerized by it. It has an air of mystery. I also liked the fighting scene near the end of the book. A great part of the book was about romance and history (Lia's history as the immortal wolf), and the the action scene sort of gave the book a balance. I also liked the ending. But then it wouldn't be right for me to spoil things for the readers.

NO LOVE:
I did not like the way the characters fell instantly in love. I feel it was forced, and artificial. It might work for other readers, but not for me. Those kinds of romances in young adult novels are just too much for me. The characters just met, then five pages thereafter they are kissing passionately. Move forward two pages, they are professing their undying love.

FAVORITE CHARACTER:
I have to say Lyle. There is something about him. I get this feeling that there is an internal struggle in him. I love those kinds of characters. It's as if he is fighting himself.

FAVORITE LINE:

Whether or not you love me, I'll always be yours.

MUSINGS:
I have read so many books that are very similar to this. When I was reading the book, it felt like I was reading Twilight all over again. Ryan (or maybe Lyle) was Jacob, and Adam was Edward. If you're looking for that kind of read, this is for you.
