Hi! Welcome to the Fairytale Nerd! So, how are you today?
Great! Thank you so much for having me on your blog!

So, tell me about your book.
Hurricane is a paranormal romance novel for young adults. It follows Adriana Alexander, a high school teen whose dreams predict the future. When her dream of two mysterious brothers attending her school comes true, she makes it her goal to figure out the brothers’ secret. What she didn’t predict was that the brothers would kidnap her on the eve of Hurricane Katrina. The book chronicles the trio’s evacuation from New Orleans, complete with a touch of voodoo and a vengeful ghost, and Adriana’s eventual return to the devastated city she loves. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the New Orleans Habitat for Humanity.

What is your interesting writing quirk?
I like to write very early in the morning, although it’s more of a convenience than a quirk.

In your opinion, what is the most overrated virtue?
I would have to say patience, because I lack it.

If you were given the power to be invisible, what is the first thing you would do?
Things I am not about to admit to.

Who is your real life hero? How about in books?
Michelle Kwan. My sister is a figure skater and so I was lucky enough to meet her while she was training in Lake Arrowhead. She is elegant, hardworking, and never gives up.

Name three of your favorite books.
I don’t like to have favorites because there are so many good ones out there. Right now, I mostly read YA and that includes romance and dystopian. A good book I read this year was The Keepers by Monique James O’Connor.

Hugs or kisses?
Kisses!

Fantasy or reality?
Fantasy, of course.

Boxers or briefs?
Boxers.

All or nothing?
All.

Lord of The Rings or Harry Potter?
Harry Potter.

The man who loves you or the man you love?
Wow, that is a tough one! I’ll go with the man I love.

Viral epidemic or nuclear explosion?
Explosion.

What is your next project?
I am currently working on the sequel to Hurricane and other YA novels.

HURRICANE!

"I anxiously looked around, my heart palpitating, just in time to see an alligator slink into the green algae covered water that was on either side of us. I swallowed hard, and my heart raced even faster. Alligators were a different type of predator—the one thing I was afraid of. Now I was on my own personal swamp tour. What if my kidnappers left me in the middle of a swamp with five of them creeping up on me? I’ve had that nightmare before and—oh no, if my dreams really are a sign of the future—I couldn’t breathe now." Adriana couldn’t decide what was worse—that Hurricane Katrina was heading for New Orleans, or that she might not survive her kidnapping to see its potential effects. She had trusted Hayden, even fallen for him, and now he and his brother Luke were taking her deeper and deeper into the Bayou. Why had two of her classmates, the mysterious Boudreaux brothers, kidnapped her? Why had Adriana’s dreams started predicting the future? Most importantly, would she make it out of the Bayou alive…
