Book Recap: Tiger's Quest by Colleen Houck

Cover Inspection:
From the book cover, one can say that it is Kishan's adventure.

SUMMARY (book description based on GoodReads):
Kelsey Hayes is no ordinary college freshman. In fact, the eighteen-year-old girl has just returned from India, where she risked her life—and her heart—to rescue a handsome Indian prince from a terrible curse. Back home in Oregon, Kelsey is determined to move on, despite the lingering feelings she has for the man she left behind. She meets Li, a completely average guy who offers the promise of an ordinary, curse-free life. But just when Kelsey is ready to move on, Ren reenters her life, on a quest to reclaim her heart. Danger threatens their newly rekindled love and to save him, Kelsey must journey with someone else—a man who wants her for himself. The saga begun in Tiger’s Curse continues in Tiger’s Quest, as Kelsey finds herself in an epic battle between good and evil. From the shores of the Pacific Northwest to the jungles of India, the mountains of Nepal and Tibet, and the mystical realm of Shangri-la, this suspenseful tale of love, sacrifice, and redemption is not to be missed.

LOCATION/SETTING:
The story moves from Oregon to India to Nepal. The main characters are in search of that place called Shangri-La.

MAIN CHARACTERS:
Kelsey continues her story. She is now a college freshman, and is attempting to start a new life. She just broke up with Ren, the gorgeous Indian tiger-prince, and is trying to mend a broken heart.

WHAT THE BOOK IS ABOUT:
The story begins right after the first book ended - Kelsey is back in Oregon leaving Ren in India. She is now a freshman in college and is ready to face her college years, one that is normal, one where there is no magical Indian tiger-prince. But then Ren follows her to Oregon, and pushes himself back in her life. After a few weeks of rekindling their romance, Ren was suddenly taken. Now, Kelsey, together with Ren's charming and yes, handsome brother Kishan, must get Ren back at all cost.

LOVE:
This book is just so easy to read despite its length. It didn't feel like a burden at all. In fact, it was so good I found myself reading very slowly to savor the remaining pages. I also love the air of mystery as the characters travel to mystical jungles or lands or whatever. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone, but I love this book's ending. It's so heartbreaking. It's beautiful. Ren's hurtful words stabbed Kelsey, and I really felt Kelsey's emotions, and wanted to escape the scene with her.

NO LOVE:
I still cannot get over the fact that Kelsey wears ribbons on her hair. What's up with that?!

FAVORITE CHARACTER:
Kishan. In the first book, he was portrayed as the bad brother (sort of), but here, we see Kishan's good side. He's actually very caring and has a conscience. Not only that, he's also very funny and charming!

FAVORITE LINE:
“You know you are in love when you see the world in her eyes, and her eyes everywhere in the world.”
MUSINGS:
Although I liked Tiger's Quest, I can still say that I LOVE the Tiger's Curse... maybe because Ren is absent in this book for the most part, and it's Kishan's adventure with Kelsey. For some reason, Kishan just doesn't have that exploding chemistry with Kelsey, unlike Ren. There is something about this series that made me want MORE. It's a perfect combination of romance, action, and adventure.
