Author Interview + Giveaway: Belle Malory, author of Wanderlove

Today's special guest is Belle Malory, author of Wanderlove!

Belle Malory lives in enchanted castle with a beast and talking dishes...no...wait...that's the Disney version. Ms. Malory's life, on the other hand, is a little more ordinary. However, she is like the Disney Belle in the aspect that they both read a lot of books. Aside from reading, she enjoys writing young adult novels, mainly in the paranormal romance and urban fantasy sub-genres. Belle thinks YA books are awesome, and refuses to outgrow them. In her spare time, Belle is a hoarder of rescue dogs. She is confident her house is listed on a underground doggy map. It probably says something like: "Sucker Lives Here".

How are you today?
I'm awesome. How are you?

Tell me about your book.
It's a story about Lola, a gypsy, who kind of sucks at being a gypsy. She can't remember her past lives (which is unusual for gypsies) and she is trying to figure out why no one wants her to remember.

What is the message (from your book/s) that you want to convey to your readers?
I don't really try to send messages when I write. I try to create another world for myself and readers to escape into.

Give me one thing that you would want to change about your book?
I wrote Wanderlove (for the most part) how I envisioned it. If anything, I wish I could've made it longer, but it was already at 90,000+ words. However, I probably could have created a whole other book from Part Two.

What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?
Hmm...sometimes I have to talk out the conversations that form in my head. It's like I need to hear what they sound like. That can be kind of embarrassing, especially if someone hears me during these conversations ;)

Who is your hero in real life? What about in books?
Great question! My grandfather is my hero in real life- and the form of most of my inspirations. He snuck into the army at the age of 14, so he has loads of stories to tell because of that crazy decision.
As far as fictional heroes go, I would have to say I admire Katniss Everdeen's bravery.

What are your favorite colors?
Best question ever! Black...with purple as a close second.

How many wisdom teeth do you have?
I was only born with two (both removed). Don't judge- my dentist swears they don't reflect the bearing of actual wisdom.

What do you miss most right now?
Monopoly at McDonalds. I was addicted.

Do you trust others easily?
Yes. I am definitely not a good judge of character-- except for when they're on paper.

What was your favorite toy as a child?
Do books count as toys?

What is your next project?
The sequel in the Wanderlove series. I'm really excited about it! The MC switches, but it will pick up right where Wanderlove left off and include many of the same characters.

Wanderlove
by Belle Malory
Lola Moori is hiding a secret she doesn't know she's keeping.
She begins to remember someone. Someone important. His name is Gabe…and whatever they shared, she could feel that it was epic.
Yet it seems Gabe wanted her to forget him. Forever.
The curse that repressed Lola’s memories for the span of several lifetimes is coming undone. But unfortunately for Lola, she discovers that some secrets are better left buried.
