Today, I am featuring a character interview with Cheyenne Loveless from the book Vala Agendas!

So you're a Nymph right? What exactly does that entail?
Mythology has always described Nymphs as these beautiful women who can turn themselves into flowers and trees. I've never been able to turn into another object, but right now all I know is I can talk to the plants. There might be other powers inside of me, but they haven't quite flourished yet since my magic just became unlocked. I'm kind of hoping for something a little more, but at the same time a lot of power sounds scary to me.

What was your biggest fear about coming to Vala for school?
That I wouldn't fit in. There is so much going on here, and everyone knows everyone else's business. I'm not used to that. My last school was full of gossip, but I wasn't a part of it. It was so large, I could get by unnoticed for the most part. Not at Vala. Plus everyone has magic. I was worried at first it'd be like Harry Potter or something, and I'd be forced to learn how to do all of these different spells. It made me happy to learn that I didn't have to worry about any of that. The curriculum is based on individual's needs, and the basics are still taught too. I haven't started any of my magic classes just yet, but those will come later on I'm sure.

Describe your ideal date?
Something where we're both comfortable. I don't want a lot of bells and whistles that will make me feel like I'm in the spotlight. Simple and heartfelt is always best.

Are you spontaneous?
Not usually. I try to make sure I'm ready for whatever I'm going to do next, but I've been known to do a few things that are out of character. I mean, I did let Denver bite me even though I shouldn't have.

If you could live anywhere in the world where it be?
I'd love to live in Europe. It seems like a place I'd fit in well.

What do you admire about your friends?
They each have qualities I wish I had. Halyn always looks on the bright side of everything, and knows how to make the most of every moment, even the bad ones. Zes is so strong, I can't even begin to describe what that guy puts up with. Jewl is good about drowning out what other people think of her, and doing what she believes is right even if other people don't agree. We haven't always gotten along, but I have to admire her for that much at least. And finally as much as they hate each other, Denver and Anj have a lot in common. The thing I admire about them the most is that they both push themselves to get to where they want to go in life.

Vala Agendas
by J.F. Jenkins
Cheyenne Loveless was just a boring sixteen-year-old girl. Then Denver Collins bit her and everything changed. Her plants start talking to her, she finds out she’s a Nymph, and a witch and the angel of death show up at her doorstep to take her away to the prestigious Vala School and Seminary. Oh, and she has no choice in the matter.
All she wants to do is blend in and return to being invisible, but the more time that passes, the harder that becomes. Plus she’s a daughter of the Divine, an exclusive secret society which rules the world of myth, and discovers she is a key ingredient to an ancient covenant created before she was born. A covenant that will reshape the order of the world.
Adjusting to a new school is difficult enough, but adding on everyone else’s hidden agendas is the icing on the cake. Cheyenne must learn to see through the lies in order to find her place — and possibly even love — in this new world.
