Author Interview: Angela Corbett, author of Eternal Starling

Hey guys! Today, Angela Corbett, author of Eternal Starling is featured on the blog. I've read her book recently, and it was really very romantic! One of the things I loved about the book is the love triangle. Very well-made. An unpredictable love triangle that no one should miss. Read my review HERE.
As a child, Angela Corbett’s most prized possession was a set of read-along books. She used to follow along with the narrator on the stereo and dream of when she would be able to read by herself. Her childhood reading habit led her to consider her future career. However, after consulting with her parents, she realized she had already exceeded hobbit height and since fairies and dragonslayers were tricky jobs to get, she decided she wanted to create worlds of her own. She started writing poetry in elementary school and worked as a journalist in high school and college, but could never leave her love for writing fiction behind.
She is a graduate of Westminster College where she double majored in communication and sociology. She has worked as a journalist, freelance writer, and director of communications and marketing. She loves classic cars, traveling, and escaping in a good book. She lives in Utah with her incredibly supportive husband and their five-pound Pomeranian, Pippin, whose following of fangirls could rival Justin Bieber's.
Eternal Starling is her debut novel and the first book in the Emblem of Eternity trilogy.

Welcome to my blog! How are you today?
I'm great! Thanks for inviting me to chat with you, JoAnne!

What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?
Hmmm, I sometimes cheat and jump to scenes I want to write the most instead of writing the book chapter by chapter. :)

Are you too shy to ask someone out?
I started dating my husband in college, so I haven't been on a date in a very long time! I don't think I'd be too shy to ask someone out though.

Have you ever tried restoring a car?
Evie's car is based on my 1966 GT Mustang. I worked on it a little in high school, but it had some major problems and I eventually had to have it restored by a professional. I love working on the car and keeping it ready for car shows though.

Your favorite thought provoking song?
I've been listening to a lot of Adele while working on book 2 of the Emblem of Eternity series. I love the lyrics to "Someone Like You."

Your favorite thing to hate?
It drives me nuts when people drive slow on the freeway.

Your book has one of the most amazing love triangles ever! In your opinion, what makes a good love triangle (in stories)?
Thank you!!! My favorite type of love triangle to read is one that keeps me guessing. I want to see the good and bad in both guys and not have a clear contender for who will win the girl's heart...at least not right away. So I think writing both guys and showing their positive and negative character traits makes a difference. In Eternal Starling, both Alex and Emil love Evie and she truly loves them both. It's not going to be an easy road for any of them.

Scenario: Alex is eating breakfast. What exactly does he eat?
Alex is a bacon, eggs, toast, and orange juice guy.

Scenario: It’s Saturday. What is Emil doing?
Washing his BMW, and then hanging out with Evie.

What is your next project?
Book two of the Emblem of Eternity trilogy! I have a couple of other projects as well with characters a bit older than Evie. I like writing for the 18-30 age group.

Eternal Starling
by Angela Corbett
A love so strong, even eternity can’t separate them.
Evie Starling has lived a relatively uneventful life hanging out with friends, gossiping about boys, and driving her 1966 Mustang. All of that changes when she moves to Gunnison, Colorado, to start college and meets two mysterious men.
For centuries, Alex Night and Emil Stone have yearned for Evie—but they each have their own reasons for wanting to be with her. When both men claim to be her soul mate and tell her about an unbelievable past, Evie learns that she’s not the person she thought she was. Soon, Evie finds herself in the middle of an age-old battle between the Amaranthine Society—the soul protectors, and the Daevos Resistance—the soul destroyers. With a past she doesn’t understand, and a future rife with danger, Evie has to decide who she can trust. But Alex and Emil aren’t the only ones who want Evie, and her soul is about to become the rope in an eternal tug-of-war.
