Author Interview: Jennifer L. Armentrout, author of Half-Blood

Today's special guest is the author of Half-Blood, Jennifer L. Armentrout! I have read Half-Blood, and WOW is all I can say. (Read my review HERE.) The next book in the series comes out April 3rd.
Jennifer lives in Martinsburg, West Virginia. All the rumors you've heard about her state aren't true. When she's not hard at work writing. she spends her time reading, working out, watching really bad zombie movies, pretending to write, and hanging out with her husband and her Jack Russel Loki. Her dreams of becoming an author started in algebra class, where she spent most of her time writing short stories....which explains her dismal grades in math. Jennifer writes young adult paranormal, science fiction, fantasy, and contemporary romance. She also writes adult romance under the name J. Lynn. She is the author of the COVENANT Series, the LUX Series, and the upcoming YA contemporary mystery/thrillers DON'T LOOK BACK (Disney/Hyperion Fall 2013) and yet untitled book (Disney/Hyperion tentative Fall 2014).

Welcome to my blog Jennifer! So, for the first question... If you could change one character in Half-Blood, who would it be? Why?
After a book is published, I try not to think anymore about things I'd change and what not. Mainly because I CAN'T Change anything at this point. There comes a point when you have to let the book go and once it's published, that's it. Now through the editing process, I'm pretty much changing things right up to the last minute.

What is the message from Half-Blood that you want to convey to your readers?
I really don't write with any message intended. Readers interpret their own messages and that's the fun part, seeing what deeper meaning they take from it.

The one who loves you or the one you love?
The one who loves you.

Fantasy or reality?
Fantasy

Boxers or briefs?
Boxers.

Seth intrigues me. He's a mystery. I can't wait wait to read more about him! Tell me what makes him laugh out loud. Where does he go when he's angry?
Seth is definitely a different character. And he plays a huge row in Pure. I think arguing makes him laugh out loud. Alex also makes him laugh out loud, mostly because they argue a lot. Seth wouldn't go anywhere when he's angry. He'd stay with whatever is making him angry and deal with it.

What is in Aiden's refrigerator right now?
Chicken breast. Milk. Bottled Water. A bag of M&Ms.

Thank you so much for this opportunity!
Thank you for having me

Half Blood
by Jennifer Armentrout
The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi-pure-bloods-have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals-well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures. Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden. Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.
