SUMMARY (book description based on GoodReads):
In this dramatic conclusion to the Shade trilogy, Aura and Zachary’s relationship sizzles as the secrets of the Shift are revealed.

Life can change in an instant, and no one understands that better than Aura. It’s been almost a year since her boyfriend tragically died. She’s finally letting go of Logan’s violet-hued ghost, but not her search to uncover the truth about her past.

As the first in a generation that can see ghosts, Aura is convinced she has a connection to the Shift. She’s trusted Zachary, ever patient and ever by her side, with all that she knows. But when the government threatens his life in an attempt to learn Aura’s secrets, she will stop at nothing to protect herself and the one she loves...even if that means betraying her own heart.

LOCATION/SETTING:
The story is set at the beginning of the story in Baltimore. Then the characters travel to Scotland and Ireland.

MAIN CHARACTERS:
The main character is Aura. She is the first of the pre-shifter, and at the end of the second book, she exchanged powers with Zachary after they kissed. Aura developed and matured so much in this installment. She is no longer holding on to the past, and is now ready to face her future with Zachary.

WHAT THE BOOK IS ABOUT:
The story continues! The DMP have Zachary, and Aura is determined to get the love of her life back. Not only that, but the DMP is doing something highly suspicious. Aura and her friends are determined to find out what and to bring DMP down.

LOVE:
One of the things I loved about the series is that music is very much incorporated into the story. Initially, I thought that since Logan moved on, there won't be any more music. But music still plays a role in this book.

Also, it has been a long time since I have read the first and the second books in the series. So I am not familiar with the itty bitty details anymore. But upon reading the first few chapters, those important and necessary details were immediately supplied, helping me understand better and follow the story. Hence, I enjoyed and appreciated the story more.

Another thing I liked about the book is the even and consistent pacing. It's not too slow, not too fast. Its just right to keep me interested and reading until the last page. There was suspense, action, and drama, although the spine tingling romance occurred only in the second half of the book.

And of course, I loved the Zachary and Aura coupling. So sweet and sexy. The reader will certainly feel that those two are connected. They're friends. They're lovers. They are so in love that you will die of sweetness. Their romantic scenes in this book are exactly that - romantic...

NO LOVE:
Zachary is absent in the first half of the book. But then again, it only makes the reader eager for the Zachary-Aura love scene all the more right? Nevertheless, readers would get their fill of Zachary with the help of flashbacks.

FAVORITE CHARACTER:
Aura is here to save the day! Aura is a very likable character. She's fun, strong, and intelligent. She's the kind of character that I want to call a friend. While she loves her boys, she doesn't exactly need them to to survive. She's independent. In fact, it is Aura who will save the boys in this story.

FAVORITE LINE:
This thing between him and me had become Us, an entity to be kept alive at all costs.
MUSINGS:
The story focused not so much on mythology and ghosts anymore. It centered in the political aspect - the DMP and the US government. It actually made the book more interesting as it added an element of suspense as to what the US government will do.

Moving on to the love and romance part, I love the way Aura still loves Logan. It gives life to the saying first love never dies. It's touching and beautiful the way Aura still thinks about her first boyfriend every now and then. For those interested to know if Logan is present in this book...

Now to the Zachary part. The romance between Zachary and Aura in this book is exquisite. It's indulgent and seductive. It's like eating strawberries dipped in dark chocolate. Their romance ranges from cute to sweet to hot to heavy. Zach and Aura have an unbelievable book chemistry, and all their tension from the first two books will be unleashed in this book.

For those who want (or need) to know if Aura and Zachary will finally have sex...

And the surprising turn of events! There were events that were really unexpected. I truly didn't know how the story will end, which is really good. The story is unpredictable. And the ending was satisfying - conflicts were resolved and wrapped up nice and tight.

All in all, this last installment is made of awesome. It has everything, suspense, humor, the right amount of cuteness, and the right amount of romance. As this is the last book in the series, I will surely miss Aura, Logan, and Zachary...
