Contest Policy


1. Entrants must be a person 13 years old or older.

2. Contests are international, unless otherwise specified.

3. The duration of the contest, the deadline for entries, and the number of winners shall be specified in the post announcing the giveaway.

4. As the owner of the blog The Fairytale Nerd, I reserve my right to disqualify entrants who fail to follow the instructions as indicated.

5. For Google Docs Sign Ups, winners will be chosen using the online random number service, Random.org at midnight (+8 GMT) of the last day for entries. For Rafflecopter Sign Ups, the winner will be chosen by Rafflecopter.

6. Winners will be announced on this blog a day after the winner has been chosen winners will also be notified via email.

7. Winners will have 72 hours to respond to my email informing them that they have won the contest. If within the 72-hour period, I do not get a reply, a new winner will again be chosen in the same manner as no.5.


Claiming of prizes

For softcopies. (eBooks, digital copies of books)

1. If the contest is sponsored by an author, it will be the author or his or her representative who will email to the winner the digital copy of the book. I will not be held responsible if the ebook is sent to the wrong email. Similarly, the author cannot be held responsible if the entrant placed a wrong email in the form. So, please double check the email address you enter.

2. If the contest is not sponsored by an author, I will be the one sending the ebook to the email address indicated in the contest form. Again, please double check your email address as I will not be held responsible if the entrant placed a wrong email in the form.

For hardcopies. (hardbound, or paperback copies)
1. If the contest is sponsored by an author, it will be the author or his or her representative who will ship to the winner the copy of the book. I will not be held responsible if the prize is lost in the mail.

2. If the contest is not sponsored by an author, I will be the one sending the prize to the winner. After delivering the prize to the courier, I will email to the winner the package tracking order or number within a reasonable time. I may also order the book from Book Depository or Amazon US, and just have the book delivered to the winner's address. I will also send to the winner the tracking order. With this, I will not be held responsible if the prize is lost in the mail.

3. Mailing addresses will only be asked if one is a winner, and when it is absolutely necessary in order for the prizes physically shipped to the winner.

4. Such addresses will also be promptly deleted once the winner receives the package. Hence, winners are requested to acknowledge receipt of the prize.
