SUMMARY (book description based on GoodReads):
When a strange boy tumbles down a river embankment and lands at her feet, seventeen-year-old adrenaline junkie Deznee Cross snatches the opportunity to piss off her father by bringing the mysterious hottie with ice blue eyes home.
Except there's something off with Kale. He wears her shoes in the shower, is overly fascinated with things like DVDs and vases, and acts like she'll turn to dust if he touches her. It's not until Dez's father shows up, wielding a gun and knowing more about Kale than he should, that Dez realizes there's more to this boy; and her father's law firm than she realized.
Kale has been a prisoner of Denazen Corporation an organization devoted to collecting special kids known as Sixes and using them as weapons his entire life. And, oh yeah, his touch? It kills. The two team up with a group of rogue Sixes hellbent on taking down Denazen before they're caught and her father discovers the biggest secret of all. A secret Dez has spent her life keeping safe.
A secret Kale will kill to protect.

SETTING:

MAIN CHARACTER:
The main character is Deznee Cross. She has blonde hair with black highlights and piercings. She has a rocky relationship with her father. She's witty, independent, intelligent, and does not put up with people's crap - a very strong female lead.

WHAT THE BOOK IS ABOUT:
Deznee Cross accidentally meets Kale (who doesn't have a last name because he doesn't need one... haha) while walking on the woods as she was on her way home. It seemed as if Kale was being chased by a group of men, and so Deznee hides Kale, and brings him home. Then Deznee senses that there is something weird about Kale as he is not familiar with common things, such as DVDs. What's even worse is that Kale recognizes Deznee's father, and Deznee feels that her father has something to do with Kale's weirdness. Then Deznee's father arrives, and Deznee helps Kale escape. As she gets to know Kale, she finds out that Kale is a six (a person with special power or talent), and has been used (abused?) by Denazen, the organization Deznee's father works for. Now Deznee must help Kale take down Denazen and free the other sixes who are being used by the Denazen.

LOVE:
I love that this book has no boring moments. The plot in general in very exciting, the dialogue is insanely funny, and the romance is sizzling hot. What more can a reader ask for? I also liked the fact that up until the end of the story, I didn't know what's going to happen. The story is unpredictable, and like Dezneee, I didn't know who were the bad guys and the good guys.

NO LOVE:
What I HATE about this book is that it had to end. And considering that I have been given an opportunity to read an ARC of this book, I might be waiting for a longer time to get my hands on the sequel. Now what I didn't like about the story is that at times, I found Deznee rude. I know it's a product of teenage rebellion, and it makes the story more interesting, but for me, there is a very thin line between a snarky heroine and a rude one.

FAVORITE CHARACTER:
Kale. His innocence is refreshing and hilarious! But what I admire most about him is that despite all the hardships and abuses he went through in the hands of the Denazen, he did not lose his humanity and goodness.

FAVORITE LINE:
He wasn't just staring at me, he saw. More clearly than anyone else ever had.

MUSINGS:
This book is one of the most exciting books I've read. The main characters are always on the run, always exchanging witty lines, and always sizzling with their chemistry. Things are always happening in this book, and you will always be surprised. It's one of those books that is really difficult to put down, and is constantly on your mind when you stop reading it. Lovers of X-Men and all things SciFi would love this book.
