[Day Thirteen of 31 Days] Giveaway + Author Interview: Lauralynn Elliott, author of Starfane

Today, Lauralynn Elliott is visiting The Fairytale Nerd for an author interview and a giveaway! Lauralynn is the author of the fairy book Starfane.

I’ve always loved to write, even as a child. At some point I became discouraged, thinking I wasn’t good enough, and stopped writing. But then I met my author friend, Zoe Winters, and she encouraged me to start writing again. Thank you, Zoe.

I write paranormal and fantasy romance books, which are sold in the Amazon Kindle Store, smashwords.com, kobobooks.com, barnesandnoble.com, and more coming soon. I like putting a different twist on some old ideas, and you might find vampires, ghosts, wizards, elves, and other interesting creatures in my books.

Hi! Welcome to the Fairytale Nerd! So, how are you today?
I'm great, and I really appreciate you having me here today.

So, tell me about your book.
Starfane is a romance that involves an elf, a wizard, and a human woman. The main character steps through a mural on the wall and finds herself in a new world filled with all kinds of creatures, some good, some very bad.

Why fairies?
I thought a fairy would fit in perfectly with the land of Starfane. The fairy in my book isn't a sweet little creature. She's tough and is great friends with the elf in my book. I wanted to have a fairy character that was a little different. Her name is Salamar and she's beautiful and full sized, not tiny like Tinkerbell. :)

Who is your real life hero? How about in books?
Oh, my husband is definitely my real life hero. He's awesome. In books? Agent Pendergast in the novels by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child.

Name three of your favorite books.
"It" by Stephen King, "Red" by Kait Nolan, "Heroes 'Til Curfew" by Susan Bischoff

Shaken or stirred?
Neither. Bleh.

Summer or winter?
Summer

Call or text?
Definitely text

All or nothing?
All.

Math or science?
Science.

The man who loves you or the man you love?
They happen to be one and the same. LOL

Viral epidemic or nuclear explosion?
Viral epidemic. Maybe I would have a chance.

What is your next project?
The third book in my Libby Fox series, which I hope to release in December.

Starfane
by Lauralynn Elliott
When Lauren Drake takes a job redecorating a house, she never dreamed her life was going to change so drastically. She is given a room with a large mural on the wall depicting a world much different from her own. One day she steps through the mural into Starfane. In this strange and beautiful world she finds herself having to choose between two men – one very good, and one very bad. In the meantime, she is working desperately to help a man in her own world find out why he has lost the ability to feel. Lauren finds love, desire, anguish, and danger in Starfane…but she never could have imagined the real truth behind the mural and the three men in her life.
