My Book Boyfriend #9: Jace Wayland

A weekly meme, hosted by The Unread Reader, in which we swoon over boys in books!

This week's book boyfriend is JACE WAYLAND from The Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare. I know that this book is almost overexposed given that there will be a movie and all, but I just cannot let Jace slip through my fingers. I must make him my book boyfriend before the book explodes.

Although Jace has already been cast, there will always be one Jace for me, and that is Alex Pettyfer. Just look at this comparison from fuckyeahmortalinstruments

Facts about Jace:
  • The best Shadowhunter of his generation
  • An Orphan
  • Witty, arrogant, ANNOYING (but that's part of his charm)
  • SEXY

Favorite Lines / Scenes:

From City of Bones
"Don't." Clary raised a warning hand. "I'm not really in the mood right now."
"That's got to be the first time a girl's ever said that to me," Jace mused.

From City of Ashes
"Why didn’t you wake me up?'
'I thought you could use the rest. Besides, you were sleeping like the dead. You even drooled,' he added. 'On my shirt.'
Clary‘s hand flew to her mouth. 'Sorry.'
'Its not often you get to see someone drool,' Jace observed. 'Especially with such total abandon. Mouth wide open and everything."

From City of Glass
"There is no pretending," Jace said with absolute clarity. "I love you, and I will love you until I die, and if there is life after that, I'll love you then."

From City of Fallen Angels
“Aren’t you supposed to be hiring someone else to train me full-time anyway?”
“Yes,” he said, getting up and pulling her to her feet along with him, “and I’m worried that if you get into the habit of making out with your instructors, you’ll wind up making out with him, too.”
“Don’t be sexist. They could find me a female instructor.”
“In that case you have my permission to make out with her, as long as I can watch.”
“Nice.” Clary grinned, bending down to fold up the blanket they’d brought to sit on. “You’re just worried they’ll hire a male instructor and he’ll be hotter than you.”
Jace’s eyebrows went up. “Hotter than me?”
“It could happen,” Clary said. “You know, theoretically.”
“Theoretically the planet could suddenly crack in half, leaving me on one side and you on the other side, forever and tragically parted, but I’m not worried about that, either. Some things,” Jace said, with his customary crooked smile, “are just too unlikely to dwell upon.”
