This week's book boyfriend is JACE WAYLAND from The Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare. I know that this book is almost overexposed given that there will be a movie and all, but I just cannot let Jace slip through my fingers. I must make him my book boyfriend before the book explodes.

My Book Boyfriend #4: Prince Dhiren

A weekly meme, hosted by The Unread Reader, in which we swoon over boys in books!

Hi guys! I wasn’t able to post MBB last week… but I’m back now with

PRINCE DHIREN
"Ren"
from The Tiger’s Curse
by Colleen Houck

In my mind, Ren is portrayed by Imran Abbas.

Oh don’t be afraid of him! Ren is a pussy cat!

Facts about Ren:
- Born Prince Alagan Dhiren Rajaramin in the year 1657 as the crown prince of the Mujulaain Empire
- His father was of Indian descent, but his mother was Asian princess.
- Along with his brother, he was cursed and changed into a tiger
- According to Kelsey, here’s how he looks like: “He didn’t look very tiger-like, other than his eyes. He had full lips, a square jaw, and an aristocratic nose. He didn’t look like any other man I’d ever seen. I couldn’t place it, but there was something else, something cultured about him. He exuded confidence, strength, and nobility.
- His laugh is magnetic.
- Loves peanut butter
- Loves poetry

Favorite Scenes/Lines:

He laughed. “Kelsey, we all have some animalistic tendencies. I loved hunting, even when I was young.”
I shuddered. “Fine. Just keep your animalistic tendencies to yourself.”
He leaned toward me again and pulled on a strand of my hair. “Now, Kells, there are some of my animalistic tendencies that you seem to like.” He started making a rumbling sound in his chest, and I realized that he was purring.
“Stop that!” I sputtered.

He laughed quietly. “Breathe, Kelsey.” He had a very self-satisfied, smug grin on his face, which, for some reason, got my ire up. “You seem very happy with yourself.”
He raised an eyebrow. “I am.”
I smirked back at him and said, “Well, you didn’t ask for permission.”
“Hmm, perhaps we should rectify that.” He trailed his fingers up my arm, swirling little circles as he went. “Kelsey?”
I watched his progress and mumbled, distracted, “Yes?”
He stepped closer. “Do I—”
“Hmm?” I wiggled slightly.
“Have your—”
He started nuzzling my neck then moved up to my ear. His lips tickled me as he whispered, and I felt him smile, “Permission—”
Goose bumps broke out on my arms and I trembled.
“To kiss you?”
I nodded weakly. Standing on my tiptoes, I slipped my arms around his neck showing him that I was definitely giving permission. He trailed kisses from my ear across to my cheek in achingly slow motion, grazing along a path of his choosing. He stopped, hovering just over my lips, and waited.
I knew what he was waiting for. I paused only a brief second before whispering faintly, “Yes.”

He slicked back his hair, let out a deep breath, then took my hand and looked intently into my eyes. “Kells, when are you going to accept the fact that we belong together?”
I felt sick, like I was kicking a faithful puppy who only wanted to be loved. I looked out at the pool.
After a moment, he sat back scowling and said menacingly, “I won’t let you leave.”

My Book Boyfriend #3: Daniel Field

A weekly meme, hosted by The Unread Reader, in which we swoon over boys in books!

It's time for MBB! This has become my favorite post of the week. haha! It's really so much fun "researching" for hot guys! Thank you so much for this wonderful meme Missie!

For this week, my book boyfriend is...

Daniel Field
from the recently released book
by Lynn Seresin

First, a little back ground on the book:

Alice was a sylphid—a winged air spirit—when she spotted Daniel Field camping in the Adirondacks and lost her heart to the handsome NYU student. Intangible to the human senses, her only hope of winning his heart resides in becoming mortal, even though transmutation is forbidden by Paralda, ruler of the air. Risking punishment, however, seems a small price to pay for a chance at true happiness. (from GoodReads)

The first time Alice saw him, she fell in love.

And so did I.
I remember thinking his hair was the color of dark autumn leaves, tinged with gold where the light touched it. And his lips, full and delicately shaped, matched the color of the rosy sky at dawn. But it was his eyes that held me. At first, I couldn’t make out their color; he was squinting against the sunlight. But as he became accustomed to the brightness, I saw them clearly, green as lake water, fringed with long lashes a shade or two darker than his hair.
I don't usually "fantasize" about normal/ordinary human boys, I prefer supernatural ones! But I have to say Daniel would be an exception! He's one of those guys who can be sweet and hottttt at the same time, and I can't help falling in love with him.

Facts about Daniel:
- Daniel is a twenty year old NYU student.
- He plays the guitar, and he serenaded Alice. Who wouldn't fall in love with that? I'd propose to him, and ask him to play the guitar for me all our lives!
- He'll write a song for you!
- He's sweet, protective, and a good listener.
- He'll cook for you!
- He has a piggy collection, which shows his sensitive, sentimental side.
- He gazes at Alice like she is the only girl in the world.
- He can drink from a water bottle WITHOUT TAKING HIS EYES OFF YOU.

My favorite scenes:

I took a careful sip of water, grateful for its coolness. Daniel moved a step closter and tilted his head back to drink, his eyes never leaving me. Finally, he lowered the bottle and blotted his lips on the cuff of his flannel shirt, still gazing at me. This was a side of Daniel I had never seen before--not overtly flirtatious, but attentive to every nuance of expression on my face. As though he was finally giving himself permission to focus fully on me.

"So, an interview," he mused, sitting beside me on the bed. His thigh brushed up against mine and my pulse quickened. "That's exciting."

"Yes, it is. I'm afraid I'm a little nervious," I confessed, trying to appear nonchalent as I admired the long line of his denim-clad leg.

"Well, don't be. You'll do fine." He was so close I could hear him breathe. He took another sip of water and I did the same, more out of a need to distract myself from the effect his proximity was having on me. I glanced at him out of the corner of my eye and watched his throat move as he swallowed. My eyes had begun traveling down the length of his chest when I realized he was studying me again. I gulped and almost choked.

"Are you okay?" He rested his hand on my thigh, which only caused me to gasp and sputter all the more.

I nodded vigorously, finally managing to squeak out, "Yes, I fine."

I pressed my hand to my chest, as much to steady my heartbeat as my breathing. Daniel continued to gaze at me, his eyes drawn to my lips when I smiled. "I guess I just swallowed a little too fast," I explained, weakly.

"Can I take these off now?" His voice was like warm syrup, sweet and thick with desire.

My sweet, sweet Daniel! If Alice dumps you, can you be mine? haha!

My Book Boyfriend #2: Dimitri Markov

A weekly meme, hosted by The Unread Reader, in which we swoon over boys in books!

Presenting My Book Boyfriend #2...

DIMITRI MARKOV
from the Prophecy of the Sisters Series by Michelle Zink

I have to admit I never liked James, and this is probably because I did not get to know him well enough. He didn't get much airtime in the entire series. To me, he is just Lia's childhood friend turned sweetheart. That's it!

But Dimitri...

Oh! Dimitri! From that time Lia laid her eyes on you, I am yours.

According to Lia:
The man steps closer. I cannot discern the color of his eyes, but the intensity with which they survey me is unmistakable. They travel over my face, down the length of my neck, and rest lightly on the pale rise of my breasts above the moss-green bodice of my gown. His eyes skip quickly away, and in the moment before he takes a step back, I feel the heat emanating between our bodies and hear the quick breath in the air around us. I cannot be sure whether it is his or mine.
Facts about Dimitri:
- He has dark hair, dark eyes.
- He is a high-ranking member of the Grigori; he is "descended on one side from one of the oldest lines in the Grigori and on the other from one of the oldest in the Sisterhood."
- Because he's from an old line, his "gifts" are extraordinary. :p And these gifts are: "the ability to travel the Plane, to scry, to speak to the dead"
- He does not need sleep the way we do! SLEEP IS FOR THE WEAK!
- Although he is not supposed to get involved in either side of the prophecy, he intervened/helped Lia because he felt "something" for her the first time he saw her.
- Despite his authority, he respects Lia's decisions, and supports her even if he disagrees with her.

Some of my favorite lines/scenes:
(I will not be putting lines from the third book Circle of Fire. I am aware aware that it's recently released, and I don't want to spoil anything for anyone. So these are all from Guardian of the Gate.)

“Do you think Gareth handsome then?”

I shake my head in mock exasperation, kissing him once again before rising and dusting off my breeches. “You are very silly, Dimitri Markov.”

His voice drifts to me on the breeze as I make my way to the horses. “You didn’t answer! Lia?”

He looks up from his hands, turning his dark eyes on me. They glitter like polished ebony in the night. “I could not stop myself from intervening. From the first moment I saw you, I felt… something.”

I raise my eyebrows, finding a moment’s humor in his choice of words. “Something?”

A smile touches the corners of his mouth. “I am drawn to you, Lia...."

He pulls his eyes from my face and tears off a section of the orange. When he lifts his arm, I think he will hand it to me, but instead, he holds it toward my lips. Of course, in New York or London, it would be highly improper to allow a man to feed me.

But I am not in New York or London.

Leaning forward, I take the orange from his hand with my mouth, my lips brushing his fingertips as I draw the fruit between my teeth. When I bite into it, I realize how small it is. The section is only slightly more than a bite, and sweeter than the oranges I have had occasion to eat elsewhere. Dimitri’s eyes linger on my mouth while I chew.

I look at the rest of the orange, still sitting in his open palm. “Aren’t you going to taste it?”

He licks his lips, and when he speaks, his voice is hoarse. “Yes.”

He moves toward me and his mouth is on mine before I have time to think. His kiss brings forth the remnant of another Lia. One who has never had to wear a corset and stockings. One who is not ashamed when her body thrills at the feel of his urgent lips on hers and the touch of his fingers through the delicate fabric of her robe. This Lia lives by the rules of the island rather than the laws of London society.

“What if I don’t want to leave my world?” I have to ask.

He leans over and kisses me softly, lingering over my lips before pulling away just an inch so that I can almost feel his lips move when he speaks. “Then I will join you in yours.”

Til next week ladies! I'm going to dip my head in the tub now. I need to cool off.

My Book Boyfriend #1: Prince Ash

A weekly meme, hosted by The Unread Reader, in which we swoon over boys in books!

Okay, this is really awkward knowing that my real boyfriend reads all my posts. : P You know who you are, and it will always be you.

Anyway, for the first ever My Book Boyfriend post, I would like you all to meet
Ashallyn’darkmyr Tallyn
a.k.a Prince Ash from The Iron Fey by Julie Kagawa
third son of the Unseelie Court
(Okay... I'm swOOOOOning here! swOOOOOning!)

The Iron Fey series are my favorite books to the nth level. And half of the reasons why is because of this guy. What can I say, I am fictionally in love with him. And after I've read the Iron Knight (ARC), all I can say is that it has become an unhealthy obsession.

I think Julie Kagawa, the creator of this fantasy of mine, pictured Ben Barnes as Ash. I completely agree that he is handsome. (Ben Barnes has been the sole reason for me to see the Narnia movies.) But he's a little old in my humble opinion. To me, Ash should look timeless, ageless, and forever young.

Facts about Ash:
- Third son of Queen Mab, thus making him one of the three cold and deadly princes of the Unseelie Court
- A hunter, spends most of his time in the Wyldwood instead of at Court (according to Grimalkin)
- Young, pale, and strikingly handsome; tall and lean, garbed in silver and black (according to Meghan)
- Black hair, silver eyes
- His weapon is this ice sword, plus he can freeze testicles and throw icicles and stuff
- A thousand years old, give or take
- Broody and sullen
- Used to be best friends with Robin Goodfellow, now mortal enemies, but sometimes they're best friends again; "It's complicated"
- Hopelessly devoted to Meghan Chase *swOOOOOn*

Some of my favorite lines/scenes:

“No one touches her,” Ash said, his voice coated with frost. “Touch her, and I’ll freeze your testicles and put them in a jar. Understand?”
I licked my lips and whispered, “Is this where you say you’ll kill me?”
One corner of his lip curled. “If you like,” he murmured, a flicker of amusement finally crossing his face. “Though it’s gotten far too interesting for that.”

“My name is Ashallyn’darkmyr Tallyn, third son of the Unseelie Court.” Though his voice was soft, it never wavered, and I felt breathless at hearing his full name. His True Name. “Let it be known—from this day forth, I vow to protect Meghan Chase, daughter of the Summer King, with my sword, my honor, and my life. Her desires are mine. Her wishes are mine. Should even the world stand against her, my blade will be at her side. And should it fail to protect her, let my own existence be forfeit. This I swear, on my honor, my True Name, and my life. From this day on…” His voice went even softer, but I still heard it as though he whispered it into my ear. “I am yours.”

He looked at me, and that faint, familiar smile crossed his lips. “I have to be on top of my game if I’m going to kill things for you, right?”

“Ah.” Ash brushed my cheek with the back of his hand, catching a loose strand of hair between his fingers. “I’ve seen thousands of mortal girls,” he said softly, “more than you could ever count, from all corners of your world. To me, they’re all the same.” His finger slid below my chin, tilting my head up. “They see only this outer shell, not who I really am, beneath. You have. You’ve seen me without the glamour and the illusions, even the ones I show my family, the farce I maintain just to survive. You’ve seen who I really am, and yet, you’re still here.” He brushed his thumb over my skin, leaving a trail of icy heat. “You’re here, and the only dance I want is this one.”
