The Nerd's Word #1: Waiting On The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin + Swooning Over Onyx by Jennifer L. Armentrout

"Waiting On" / On My Wishlist:
A book I cannot wait to get my hands on.
hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine & Book Chick City

The Evolution of Mara Dyer

by Michelle Hodkin

Expected publication: October 23rd 2012 by Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing
Two days after Mara walks into a police station in Miami at the close of The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, she is committed for psychiatric treatment for what her parents believe is a mental breakdown. But what seems like a hallucination to everyone else is a chilling reality for Mara. Someone from her past has discovered her strange, disturbing secret and that someone wants her to pay. But she's about to discover that the price is more than she can bear.
Dark and thrilling, suspenseful and passionate, The Evolution of Mara Dyer will have readers breathlessly turning pages to find out what will become of Mara Dyer next.
Would you guys consider me superficial if I say that I am eagerly waiting for the Mara Dyer sequel because I think
NOAH SHAW IS HOT.

Ha! I know that most of you who have read the first book would agree with me. And I firmly believe that these two words
NOAH SHAW

is reason enough for all of us to read the Mara Dyer sequel.

Swoon:
Lines and/or scenes from a book that made me swoon
hosted by the girls at YA Bound

The last book that had me swOOOning was Onyx by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I was lucky enough to win this book from the publisher. I read it right away, and as expected there were a lot of scenes that made me blush.

The scene below is one of my favorites:

Twitter Version (in 140 characters or less):
Daemon winked. “It’s on.”
Extended Bloggy Version (cheater's version):
“Stop distracting me, Kitten. Back to my bet—by New Year’s Day, you’ll have admitted that you’re madly, deeply, irrevocably, and irresistibly in love with me.” Stunned, I choked on my laugh.
“And you dream about me.” He released my arm and folded his across his chest, cocking an eyebrow. “I bet you’ll admit that. Probably even show me your notebook with my name circled in hearts—”
“Oh, for the love of God…”
Daemon winked. “It’s on.”
