4. Less than 300 Others exist. Their race was almost completely obliterated by the war that destroyed their planet.

5. Althea has never watched a television show, talked on the phone, or been on the internet. The humans older than thirty have, but they don’t remember it.

6. Althea’s favorite thing about Lucas’s appearance is his dimples.

7. The Others revere science and research. They need the power of knowledge on their side to continue to survive, which is why they’re so interested in genetic mutations.

8. Cadi and Ko have never hated anyone or anything – not even the beings who wiped out their ancestors and took them hostage.

9. When the Others conquered Earth, they removed all of the pets and banished them to the Wilds.

10. Once she learns about the existence of novels, Althea’s favorite book is Anne of Green Gables.
