It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

The book/s I have read the past week, and the book/s I plan to read throughout the week.
hosted by Shiela at Book Journey

Last week, I finished reading:
All I can say is WOW. I was blown away by this book. (I know it's been out last year, but I haven't had the chance to read it until last week.) It's got a complicated story line and a likable main character. Speaking of the main character, Princess Elisa is unique in the young adult genre. First of all, she isn't depicted as skinny and anorexic. She's on the large side and has a unhealthy obsession with pastries. Second, although she's a princess, she isn't whiny when exposed to the harsh way of life. (But she's really very insecure about her weight.) So refreshing! There's only one thing I didn't like about this book; and that is the fact that the romance didn't really develop. There were hints and few kisses, but it was such as small part of the story that it may be considered negligible.

This week, I plan to finish:
Because I fell in love with The Girl of Fire and Thorns, I absolutely have to continue reading Elisa's story. And it's MORE AMAZING than the first. Elisa is evolving as a character. She's a queen now, and is making very important decisions in the area of politics and governance. Nevertheless, she is also a girl who is slowly, but surely falling in love. The second book made up for the lack of romance in the first book. The is an amazing chemistry between Elisa and the love interest. It's one that shouldn't be missed.

I've seen 3 books with the title "Ember", and I count this 4th because it has the word in the title. XD

I've seen Conjure before, it looks good.
