Tuesday Character Once Over (3)

Basically a character analysis of the books I adore or I'm intrigued with.

WARNING:
This is my version of Bella Swan Bashing.
So if you are pro-Bella, skip this post.
I might actually offend you.
Don't say I didn't warn you.

Bella Swan
from the Twilight Saga

What does she look like
Nope. There won't be any photos of Bella for this Character Once Over. I just cannot take more of Kristen Stewart. Anyway, Bella is a simple girl. Prefers jeans and sneakers over skirts and stilettos. No make up, no nothing. Edward likes it that way. It has been quite a while since I have read the Twilight Saga, but I remember her at the beginning of the book as kind of ordinary. I think Stephenie Meyer created Bella as this ordinary girl so girls would be able to relate to her. But  do you really want to imitate Bella?

Basic Psychological Characteristics
Bella is shy, with her being a new student and all. I have to say the books didn't really say much about Bella at all, except how much she is insanely intrigued by Edward. She loves reading, and prefers to be alone.

How does she speak
(Don't get me started about Kristen's Stewart's twitching. Just don't. You know, I am really finding it difficult to make a character analysis of Bella from the book when I keep picturing Bella from the movie.) Like I said, Bella is shy. But she is frank and she says what she means and means what she says.

What does she want
She wants Edward. Plain and simple. That is her life story. I'm now realizing that their obsessive relationship is the be all and end all of the series. Not good. Not good.

How does she get what she wants
Bella gets Edward by going to the ballet studio, with full knowledge that James is there, in order to sacrifice herself to save her mother. That way, Edward has to save Bella from James and thus realizing that he cannot live without Bella.

What does she do when faced with problems
She solves them by herself. Bella is independent in a way due to her mother's... dare I say... immaturity?

What is her emotional state
Obsessive. Completely obsessed with sparkling vamps to the point of actually visiting their lair. Like Edward said, Bella has no concept of self preservation whatsoever.

What do other characters say about her
Well, the boys from her high school are attracted to her despite her ordinariness. She can also be perceived as selfless, which can also mean stupidity at some point in the series.

What is her station in life
Daughter of the police chief. Not scraping for money. Living a comfortable life.

What is expected from her
What can you really expect from Bella? I guess... raise Renesmee well?

Movement - twitchy
Mannerisms - twitching
Gestures - biting nails
Dress - plain
Habit - sacrificing herself
State of Mind - unhealthy
Strength - selfless
Weakness - selfless
Pleasures - Edward
Terrors - The Volturi
Likes - Edward
Dislikes - The Volturi
