What are the fae like? Different kingdoms exist in the fae realm, much like the humans have their cities and states and countries. They’re loyal to their own kind, most of the time. They love to play pranks on the humans. It’s just their nature, you see.

They’re immortal, or, I should say semi-immortal. Because being immortal means they would never die, but they can and do.

Like humans, some are good and some are bad. But all fae have a dark side, oh, just like humans.

So here are some snippets from the three fae stories out so far.

From THE DARK FAE, Book 1:

“No one has ever doused me with ice cold drinks before. There has to be an appropriate payback. You’re mine until I think of an adequate revenge.” His dark brown eyes sparkled with delight.

“You’re kidding right?”

His smile broadened. “Ask Ritasia. I don’t get angry, Alicia. I get even. Another dark fae quality.”

From THE DEADLY FAE, Book 2:

“Let go of me,” she said in a whisper back, a threat in her voice.

But Fairhaven only smiled in a smug way and said, “You will not stay.” He turned to Davenport. “We need a moment alone.”

“We do not,” Sessily said, countermanding his request.

“Lord Davenport?” Fairhaven said, his words so harsh, Davenport nodded and took a step back. He motioned for Lady Marguerite to come with him.

Sessily could have strangled Lord Fairhaven. “Let…go…of…me.”

From THE WINGED FAE, Book 3:

“Indeed. Of course, my mother will want her imprisoned for what she has done, and most likely her own people will want her locked away for a very long time in some castle tower for the same reason.” Deveron frowned again. “She’s of a royal house, which means she could be a duchess or countess, or any number of cousins to the main royal house. Did you ask her name?”

Ask her name? Niall rolled his eyes. At least he thought he did. His head hurt to such a degree, he wasn’t certain if he did it properly.

Deveron twisted his mouth in derision. “Why have you, of all people, picked up that annoyingly human expression? Even Ritasia has started copying Alicia’s way of rolling her eyes. At least Alicia lived among the humans so she had a reason to pick up the human mannerism, but…” The prince let his observation trail off with a dark look meant to make his point.

Niall grimaced. If he could have rolled his eyes again without hurting his head, he would have.

That’s a tiny glimpse into The World of Fae. They don’t get angry, they get even. And arrogance, possessiveness, and loyalty are important to their natures. Dark humor, also. There’s also a pecking order—as would be the case in any place that has royalty. Yet it doesn’t mean that the fae won’t push their luck to accomplish something they want badly enough.

In THE DARK FAE, Deveron has never met a girl before who would do such a thing to him. And he suspects she sees right through him. That he is of the fae, and not human.

In THE DEADLY FAE, Lord Fairhaven intends to stop Sessily from committing a crime, but he has no idea the crime she intends to commit, or how it will prevent another crime from being committed.

In THE WINGED FAE, Niall tangles with the winged fae, which changes his life forever. He’s intrigued with her, which he never thought would get him into a jousting tourney with a dragon fae knight—but there you have it!

In The World of Fae, they live by rules of an ancient past and visit the human’s modern world to have fun. Beware the fae, they can wreak havoc on your day, and may even capture your heart while they’re at it!

I’m working on another couple of fae stories now, Ritasia’s, the dark fae princess, who uncovers some ancient artifact that gets her into trouble, and a dragon fae story…not sure about that one yet. You see, sometimes I find the perfect fae picture and that’s how the story begins.

Have you read any of my fae world? If so, is there anyone you would like to read about further?

Thanks so much to JoAnne for having me here today, and to those who are lovers of the fae. More fae need your love!
