Angel Eyes Playlist

Vision of You, by Shane & Shane
The words are beautiful, capturing Angel Eyes with killer harmonies. Listening to these guys is like sitting in heaven’s throne room. I think Brielle would agree.

If I Die Young, by The Band Perry
When we meet Brielle, she’s a lost soul grieving and guilt-stricken at the role she played in the death of a friend. This one’s for Ali.

Halo, by Beyonce
I think this song came out the year I started drafting Angel Eyes. I didn’t hear it until well after that, but I love reading the lyrics in light of Brielle’s story.

If No One Will Listen, by Kelly Clarkson
The desire to be heard and understood is something we all share. My characters are not special in this regard. They each have something to say and they each fear the aftermath of saying it.

Breathe Me, by Sia
My friend, Anna, pointed this song out to me, told me it reminded her of Angel Eyes. It was new to me, but listening to the music and reading the lyrics, I totally agree.

Stars, by The David Crowder Band
I love the imagery in this song, the wonder at the world around us. I hope I captured some of that wonder in Angel Eyes.

Fallen, by Sarah Maclachlan
If anyone feels like they’ve fallen from grace, it’s Brielle. So much emotion. So much angst. And gorgeous vocals.

Praise You In This Storm, by Casting Crowns
This song is a great representation of where I was personally when I was drafting Angel Eyes. I think the emotion of it comes through in my writing.

About Angel Eyes

Expected publication: May 29th 2012 by Thomas Nelson Fiction

Once you’ve seen, you can’t unsee. Everything changes when you’ve looked at the world through . . .

ANGEL EYES

Brielle’s a ballerina who went to the city to chase her dreams and found tragedy instead. She’s come home to shabby little Stratus, Oregon, to live with her grief and her guilt . . . and the incredible, numbing cold she can’t seem to shake.

Jake’s the new guy at school. The boy next door with burning hands and an unbelievable gift that targets him for corruption.

Something more than fate has brought them together. An evil bigger than both of them lurks in the shadows nearby, hiding in plain sight. Two angels stand guard, unsure what’s going to happen. And a beauty brighter than Jake or Brielle has ever seen is calling them to join the battle in a realm where all human choices start.

A realm that only angels and demons—and Brielle—can perceive.
