The Sunday Story #6

Mailbox:

The books I got this week.
Still looking for a substitute for the In My Mailbox meme. After searching far and wide, I found: Mailbox Monday hosted by Mari at Mari Reads, Sunday Post hosted by Kimba at Kimba The Caffeinated Book Reviewer, and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.

Demon Eyes (Witch Eyes #2) by Scott Tracey (ARC)
The Goddess Legacy (Goddess Test #2.5) by Aimee Carter (ARC)
Foxfire (Other #3) by Karen Kincy (ARC)
Darkness Before Dawn (Darkness Before Dawn #1) by J.A. London (purchased)

Thank you Flux and Harlequin Teen for the advance copies.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

The book/s I have read the past week, and the book/s I plan to read throughout the week.

The good news...

Last week I finished reading Pushing The Limits by Katie McGarry, a YA contemporary romance. I have to say that I was just blown away by how much I loved this book despite the fact that I very rarely read YA contemporary romance books. Read my review of ALL PRAISES here. It's one of the good ones I've read this year.
Now for the bad news...

I QUIT. After reading at least 50 per cent of the Enchanted by Alethea Kontis, I quit. I just can't take it anymore. I really thought I would love it, after all I do love fairy tale re-tellings. But for some reason, I found Enchanted boring. I have to admit though, that some parts were romantic. But in my opinion, there is just no balance between description and dialogue. There is too little dialogue and conversation between and among the characters. So, I will not not be finishing this book. It became work to me.

I just bought Darkness Before Dawn, and according to Goodreads, it is a vampire dystopian book. (Apparently, futuristic vamps are on the rise.) I plan to read this book this week, hoping that it would get me out of this book rut that I am in.
