That Tuesday Thingy #13: A Teaser from Stormdancer Jay Kristoff + Top Ten Characters I’d Like To Switch Places With For 24 Hours

Teaser Tuesday:

Teasers from the book I am reading.
hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading

Stormdancer (The Lotus War #1)

Expected publication: September 18th 2012 by Thomas Dunne Books
“That was very brave, Lady."

Yukiko stared, her tongue somewhere in her sandals.

Gods, he's gorgeous . . .

The samurai pulled off his gauntlet and ran his thumb across the now silent blades of his sword, leaving behind a thin smear of red on the patterned steel.

He wiped the blood on his golden tabard, then slid the katana into its enameled sheath with the sound of a cicada's wings.

“Once drawn, it must taste blood."

This teaser is from an advance copy. Changes may be made prior to publication.

Top Ten Characters I’d Like To Switch Places With For 24 Hours

Hah! Let me warn you that this list would be filled with characters who have boyfriends,
fiancés, and/or husbands that are INSANELY hot! Twenty four hours with their men would simply not be enough! Upon reading about these men, I immediately fell fictionally in love with them because they are so devoted to their women. Yes, they can be somewhat of an ass at times, nevertheless, despite the challenges that the story (or the author?) presented them with, they remained supportive, loving, and loyal to their women.

So here are the ladies of YA literature that I would love to switch places with...

One. Meghan Chase from The Iron Fey Series by Julie Kagawa
Who wouldn't love the broody, cold, and deadly Winter Prince?

Two. Tessa Grey from The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare
I'd love to switch places with Tessa if only to get the attention of not one, but two handsome Shadowhunters - Jem and Will.

Three. Clary Fray from The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare
Jace. Just his name is, I think, is reason enough to include him in this list. He's protective and self sacrificing behind his snarky, arrogant exterior.

Four. Mara Dyer from The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
I think that The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer is one of the sexiest YA book around, and it's all due to Noah Shaw.

Five. Katy Swartz from Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Of course, Daemon Black, that sexy alien from Obsidian would be in this list. He's protective of his family and friends.

Six. Zara White from The Need Series by Carrie Jones
Team Astley here! I really never liked whatshisname (the wolf). He thinks he owns Zara, and he's too controlling. Astley, on the other hand, lets Zara be herself.

Seven. Samantha Reed from My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick
I love Jace Garrett because he loves his family and would do anything for them. It makes me wonder just how dedicated he will be when he already has his own family.

Eight. Aura Salvatorre from Shade by Jeri Smith-Ready
Zachary Moore in kilt, anyone? Anyone?

Nine. Brittany Ellis from Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles
Woo! It's getting hot in here... Alex Fuentes is sexy and passionate, and he deserves to be on this list!

Ten. Anna Oliphant from Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
Étienne St. Clair is romantic. I'd like to order one St. Clair please... To go!
