Froi of the Exiles (Lumatere Chronicles #2)

‘You go strangely rock-native when you’re here,’ she said instead. ‘There’s a rumbling in your voice and your shoulders don’t seem so stiff.’

‘And you go all barefoot and primitive when you’re up there in the mountains with your feral cousins,’ he said.

Top Ten Books That Made Me Think

One. Unraveling by Elizabeth Norris
This book is about aliens/otherworldly beings, but a great portion of it was dedicated to earth's destruction. So, it made me think about how (or if) the world will end.

Two. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
People say this book is about dying, but for me, this book is about what it means to actually "live."

Three. If I Stay by Gayle Forman
Now, this is the book about death and dying...

Four. Fracture by Megan Miranda
This book made me think about what it means to be human.

Five. My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick
This book is a beautiful (and romantic) story about making the right choice.

Six. The Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson
Yet another story about death... but this one is more about grief and moving on.

Seven. Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
Yes, I actually loved this book. It made me think about rebellion and war, and the possibility of changing established societal practices.

Eight. DaVinci Code by Dan Brown
I know this book is far from being YA, but this one made me think about the infallibility of religious doctrines.

Nine. The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan
This is an adult book about the experiences of Chinese mothers and daughters, before and now. It's about the sacrifices that women had to make, about motherhood, and about what it means to be a good daughter.

Ten. The Notebook by Nicolas Sparks
This book just makes me wonder about what it means to be "deliriously in love." It's such a romantic story.
