The Nerd's Word #13: Waiting On Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas + Swooning Over The Assassin and the Underworld by Sarah J. Maas

"Waiting On"

A book I cannot wait to get my hands on.

Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass #1)
Expected publication: August 7th 2012 by Bloomsbury USA Children's
After serving out a year of hard labor in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, 18-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien is dragged before the Crown Prince. Prince Dorian offers her her freedom on one condition: she must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin.
Her opponents are men—thieves and assassins and warriors from across the empire, each sponsored by a member of the kings council. If she beats her opponents in a series of eliminations, she’ll serve the kingdom for three years and then be granted her freedom.
Celaena finds her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Westfall, challenging and exhilirating. But she’s bored stiff by court life. Things get a little more interesting when the prince starts to show interest in her... but it’s the gruff Captain Westfall who seems to understand her best.
Then one of the other contestants turns up dead... quickly followed by another. Can Celaena figure out who the killer is before she becomes a victim? As the young assassin investigates, her search leads her to discover a greater destiny than she could possibly have imagined.
I finished reading all four novellas last week, and I fell in love with the characters, and the world, and the way the story was told. It's so good and addicting! After reading them, I immediately contacted the local bookstore to order and reserve a copy - a hard bound edition of the Throne of Glass. A paperback copy will not do because I am already anticipating re-readings, and I can just imagine the wear and tear!. Hah! If the novellas are that good, then the main book would probably be better!

Swoon:

Lines and/or scenes from a book that made me swoon.

This is a non-kissy (not really) scene between Sam and Celaena from the third Throne of Glass novella,
The Assassin and the Underworld by Sarah J. Maas.

He pressed his forehead against hers. “How can I ever repay you?”
She closed her eyes. “You don’t have to.”
He brushed his lips against hers. “I love you,” he breathed against her mouth. “And from today onward, I want to never be separated from you. Wherever you go, I go. Even if that means going to hell itself, wherever you are, that’s where I want to be. Forever.”
Celaena put her arms around his neck and kissed him deeply, giving him her silent reply.
